Cellulite, or also known as, “orange peel”, or “cottage cheese” skin affects about 9 out of 10 women. This is based on the composition and behavior of women's fat cells and the connective tissue that holds them in place. Very simply, a woman's connective tissue is very inflexible, so as females gain weight and their fat cells expand, fibers of connective tissue pull the fat upwards towards the surface of the skin, producing these unattractive dimples.
Thanks to the new procedure, Subcision, we are able to diminish the sight of cellulite. With the use of local anesthesia, this technique is performed by inserting a small catheter into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. The catheter then is manually moved in a repetitive motion parallel to the surface to physically break the connective tissue that adheres the fatty deposits to the skin. |
